Koalas and other circus animals

A surprise visitor brightened up our lazy Sunday morning, in the form of a koala in one of the wattle trees in the back yard. Steve and I were very excited, Tallis less so not really understanding what all the fuss was about. We’re not really sure how it got into the yard, and are a bit concerned about how it will get out. To be safe, we rang the Wildlife Rescue people who said not to worry about it as long as it was able to climb (which it clearly was) and that it would rest during the day and toddle off in the night. I hope it does, not that I want to get rid of it, but so that it doesn’t go too long without eating.

The visitor that made themselves quite comfy in one of our wattle trees for the day.

Several of the neighbours and their kids came to have a look, so the morning was quite busy with unexpected visitors!

In the afternoon we went on a family outing to see a charity screening of Madagascar 3. The screening was for SA Dog Rescue and we were very happy to support such a wonderful organisation. We all very much enjoyed the film, except probably Lyndon, who apart from one screaming session spent the time glued to the big screen or fast asleep. Much popcorn was enjoyed by all, and a quick and easy Maccas dinner rounded off a fun but unhealthy day!
